Each year, the Art Melanated Black Art Summit brings together a powerful community of artists, thinkers, and culture lovers. None of it would be possible without the incredible dedication of our volunteers, who help transform this one-day event into a powerful celebration of Black creativity, heritage, and connection.
As a volunteer, you are more than just support—you are the soul of the Summit. From greeting guests with warmth and hospitality to assisting with panels, workshops, and artist showcases, your presence helps create a space where Black art and voices are not only seen and heard, but deeply honored. You help shape the energy of the day, offering a welcoming atmosphere that encourages collaboration, conversation, and cultural pride.

What is the Black Art Summit?The Art Melanated Black Art Summit is a one-day celebration of Black creativity, culture, and community. Featuring panel talks, artist showcases, live art, and cultural experiences, it brings together artists, art lovers, and thought leaders to highlight and uplift Black voices in the arts.

Where will the event take place?The Summit will be held in Los Angeles, CA. The exact venue will be announced soon. Make sure you're signed up for updates!

How can I volunteer?You can sign up on our Contact Us form. Once you register, you’ll receive role options and next steps, including orientation details.

What roles are available for volunteers?We have several roles including: Guest Welcome & Hospitality Registration Desk Panel/Workshop Support Artist Assistance Event Logistics Social Media & Content Crew You’ll get to choose based on your strengths and interests.

Do I need prior experience to volunteer?Not at all! Whether you’re a seasoned event pro or this is your first time volunteering, we’ll train and support you every step of the way. Enthusiasm and reliability are what matter most.

Is there an age requirement?Yes. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old by the day of the event. Exceptions may be made for high school students with parental permission and school sponsorship.

Will volunteers receive any perks?Absolutely! All volunteers receive: An official Summit T-shirt and badge Light meals/snacks during your shift Access to select sessions when off duty A certificate of appreciation An invitation to our post-event Volunteer Appreciation Toast!

Do I have to stay all day?Nope. Shifts will be scheduled in blocks, and you’ll be able to choose a time slot that works best for you. We also encourage full-day volunteers if you're up for it!

Can I attend the Summit if I’m not volunteering?Of course! Tickets will be available to the public, and you're welcome to attend as a guest. Volunteers also get access to parts of the event during breaks.
