ABOUT THE ARTIST
Kipkemoi is a Kenyan-German artist, and was born and raised in Cuxhaven,
Germany. After relocating to California in 2011, he has become a vibrant force in
the Los Angeles art scene, weaving powerful narratives with acrylic on canvas. A
self-taught artist, Kipkemoi has dedicated 12 years to capturing the essence of
humanity in the rich tapestry of Black life. His evocative works transcend
boundaries, speaking to universal themes of connection and belonging.
His journey has taken him from intimate gallery shows across California to a Los
Angeles solo exhibit in 2021. In 2023, his dynamic vision was honored by the LA
Lakers as a winner of the "In The Paint" program, and his work soared to new
heights when the Billboard Creative showcased it on an LA billboard in 2024.
Kipkemoi's art invites viewers to see beyond our differences and celebrate the
shared human experience. Through each stroke, he explores the depths of what
it means to belong, creating a dialogue that resonates across cultures and
