My art grows from close observation of Black life: its beauty, its rhythms, and its everyday acts of imagination. I create from memory and connection, drawing on the experiences of my wife, family, friends, and communities, both near and digital. Through figurative work, I explore how Black people move through the world, how bodies, color, and space together tell stories of care, resilience, and joy.
My influences flow from culture itself: the movement of sports, the language of literature, the grounding of nature, and the creativity that lives in ordinary moments. Each piece is an act of remembering and reimagining, using color and form to evoke emotion and invite reflection.
I want viewers to feel both seen and stirred. They should find themselves somewhere in the layers of joy, memory, and tenderness that shape my work.
