Harmonia Rosales will be featured in Beginnings: The Story of Creation in the Middle Ages, bringing her luminous interpretations of the world’s origins into conversation with medieval visions of Genesis. Her participation is historic for a woman of color and symbolic of a more expansive future for institutional storytelling.
Rosales merges gold leaf, Renaissance techniques, Yoruba cosmology, and Black feminine divinity to reimagine the first moments of existence. Seen beside medieval manuscripts, her work opens a new space for understanding whose beginnings are honored and whose voices are included in the stories that shape us.
Exhibit Date: Jan 27–Apr 19, 2026
