EDDY OCHIENG
Eddy Ochieng (b. 1993, Nairobi, Kenya) is an award-winning hyperrealism artist whose work explores the emotional and psychological depths of the human experience. From a young age, Eddy’s fascination with visual storytelling emerged through pencil sketches of everyday life. What began as childhood scribbles matured into a profound artistic pursuit, eventually leading him to study Fine Art at Kenyatta University, where he refined his technical abilities under the mentorship of professional artists and educators.
His hyperrealistic paintings are rooted in a deep sensitivity to the diversity of the human condition capturing subtle facial expressions, nuanced textures, and complex emotional states with astonishing precision. Inspired by the mastery of artists like Kelvin Okafor and Phillip Weber, Eddy’s visual language reveals truths, memories, and quiet moments often overlooked.
Eddy’s career has been marked by critical recognition and global visibility. He is a two-time Mask Art Prize winner and the 2021 Manjano Art Competition winner, honors that have solidified his place among Kenya’s most compelling contemporary voices. His work has been exhibited internationally, including solo exhibitions in New Jersey , London and group shows in Australia, South Africa, and the U.S.
His work is part of private and institutional collections across Africa, Europe, and North America.
