Kipkemoi is a Kenyan-German self-taught artist born and raised in Cuxhaven, Germany. In 2011, he relocated to California and planted his creative roots in the vibrant Los Angeles art scene. For over a decade, he has specialized in acrylic-on-canvas portraiture that centers on Black life, identity, and the emotional landscapes of diasporic experience . His work has received institutional recognition—including a solo exhibition in L.A. in 2021, selection as a contributing artist in the L.A. Lakers’ “In The Paint” initiative in 2023, and a 2024 feature on a prominent Billboard Creative billboard in L.A.

His creative voice didn’t emerge until he moved to Oakland, California, at age 26—a point when the city’s rich cultural and activist energy ignited his passion for visual storytelling.
